IRC/Chat Server

SDG is happy to provide a private IRC server. It can be found at superdupergames.org at the standard port of 6667. For SSL connections, connect to port +6668 (don't forget the plus sign). If you have an IRC client installed, this link should take you directly there. This is a closed network that requires your existing SDG username and password to connect. Once connected, nicknames cannot be changed so as to prevent confusion of identity. As always, if you have any questions or problems, never hesitate to visit the Forums for help.

How do I get to the chat server via SDG?

A Java-based IRC client is now available by clicking on the Open a Chat Window button at the top of your home page. It will open a separate window that will take you directly to the #chat channel on the IRC server.

How else can I access it?

There are many, many clients you can download for free. Below is a small list. Feel free to add others if you know of them!

How does IRC work?

IRC (Internet Relay Chat) has been around for a long time. It has a little bit of a learning curve, but is actually quite straightforward once you get the hang of it. There are so many resources online that I won't try to duplicate their information here. Below is a link of helpful IRC websites. Feel free to add others!
